The main activity of service in TMLC is to provide the highest quality
education and training to not only trade unionists and their
members, but also interested paties, on an individual or
group basis, within & beyond the borders of kenya.

TMLC offers three categories of educational programmes:

  • Workshops, symposiums and seminars related to the general area of trade unions work.
  • Short specialized courses and training programmes tailor-made to fit the needs of individual unions.
  • Certificate and Diploma Courses in areas of Business and ICT, Labour, among other several value added disciplines.

The main clientele at the College are trade union leaders and members most of who are affiliated to COTU (K).

The College has also been able to act as a focus centre for trade union education in Eastern Africa and other countries in Africa. On some occasions, the College has also acted as a host to major international trade union activities and projects. The TMLC is also a distance learning centre for academic institutions such as the Cambridge College in the United Kingdom.

The College has also in the past collaborated with Maseno University and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in relations to exchange programmes & better education rendering & facilitation to our clients.

The College was formally registered with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) as an institution of higher learning on 17 March 2010. Through this, the Ministry approved a number of courses to be offered by the College, and also approved the College to be an examination centre for the Kenya National Examinations Council.

In order to smoothly render the services above, the college has quite a number of facilities, designed to suite your needs, as presented below:

The formal registration of the College, and the approval of its courses inclusive of its examination centre status is a reaffirmation of the College’s potential in providing developmental courses to Kenyans.

Based on the assessment by MoEST, the College is qualified to offer the following courses: Diploma and Certificate in Information Technology; Diploma and Certificate in Business Administration; and Certificate in Computer Systems and Computer Application Packages. Eventually it is hoped that the College will in time be able to offer undergraduate and post-graduate degree programmes relevant to labour and trade unionism, among other disciplines.
